During the early sixties I attended the Mary White School of Art & Design in Sydney, studying painting under the guidance of John Olsen. Subsequently I worked for about seven years as a Display Artist for David Jones in Sydney, creating the seasonal window and store wide decorative themes, eg winter, spring, Mothers' Day, special promotions, etc. The biggest enterprises, which took about 6 months, were the annual Christmas story windows in the Elizabeth Street Store (eg Peter Pan) with moving puppets and animals which I helped design and create.

It was such fun, being paid to paint and to do sculptural work and all kinds of related things...I loved it and hated having to go home...imagine that! Then I went overseas and that was that.

Still - travel does expand the mind.

Later I moved to Brisbane where I studied life drawing and painting at the Brisbane Institute of Art under David Paulsen.

During this time (1988 - 2000) I attended numerous workshops with well known Australian artists at Cooee Bay in Yepoon (see resume).

In 2009 I moved to the Tweed where I began attending life drawing classes at the Tweed River Regional Art Gallery run by artist Shirley Kennedy, where I have been drawing ever since.

In 2013/14 I attended three six week sessions with Michael Cusack at the Byron School of Art working in oils and moving back to abstraction. My most recent work is a change from more linear painting to a more simplified concept. This is an ongoing pursuit.
